Observing 50th Anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Carl Guss will be honored Sunday, at open house from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. in their home on Washington St. in Hudson. Their children and families have invited all their friends and relatives to help them celebrate their gold anniversary.

Carl Guss and Lulu Rorick were married September 7, 1905 at the home of the bride’s father, Jacob M. Rorick in Seneca, by Rev. William H. Shannon, pastor of the First Congregational church of Morenci.

They lived on a farm in Medina for 25 years. They then bought the general store at Medina which they operated for eight years. At this time they moved to Hudson where Mr. Guss and his two sons Don and Bob owned and operated a grocery and meat market for 16 years. Mr. Guss retired in 1954.

The children of Mr. and Mrs. Guss are a daughter Mrs. Alice Johnston of Cambria; and three sons, Glen, Donald and Robert, all of Hudson. They also have ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Another daughter, Mrs. Helen Strayer, is deceased.
