Miss Mildred Pauline Palmer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Solomon of this city [Hudson] became the bride of Donald C. Guss, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Guss of Morenci yesterday afternoon at the home of the bride’s parents on Pleasant Street. Charming simplicity marked the ceremony which was performed by Rev. D.D. Nagle in the presence of the immediate families. The bride wore a gown of powder blue crepe with matching lace trim with accessories of a deeper shade and carried roses and sweet peas. The Misses Alice Guss and Evelyn Smith both of Morenci acted as the bride’s attendants, little Miss Carolyn Strayer of Sand Creek, niece of the bridegroom was the ring bearer and Robert Guss brother of the bridegroom and Donald Campbell of Devils lake, North Dakota attended Mr. Guss.
A wedding dinner was served to the bridal party after the ceremony, white carnations being used as the table decorations. A handsomely decorated wedding cake, baked and presented by Mrs. Elsie Clapp of Morenci, was an attractive part of the menu.
Mrs. Guss was graduated from the Hudson high school with the class of 1934 and has been employed in the office of the Hardie Manufacturing Company. Mr. Guss was graduated from the Morenci high school with the class of 1931. They will be at home to their friends on May 5 in their home in Morenci where the bridegroom is employed.
