ZENA, June 9—Mrs. W.D. Staplin and two young daughters, Nadine and Hazel of Raymond, Wash., arrived here recently for an indefinite visit at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Roy E. Barker, brother-in-law and sister of Mrs. Staplin; Mr. and Mrs. Biggs, former foster parents of Mrs. Staplin, who accompanied them have returned to their home at Raymond.

Mrs. Ethel M. Barker, 72, Salem Rt. 1 Box 693, died Friday in a Salem nursing home. She was born at Tillamook, and came to Salem from Portland 48 years ago. She was a member of Salem First Presbyterian Church and Brush College Grange. Survivors include a son Samuel, Columbia, Mo., and sister Mrs. Edith Staplin, Tacoma, Wash. Arrangements are pending at Barrick mortuary.

Late resident of 1668 Center St. NE. Fri., Feb. 24, at a local hospital. Survived by widow, Nellie, Salem; sons, Merrill E., Salem; Krader R., Tacoma, Wash.; sisters, Mrs. Roy E. Barker, Zena. Ore.;Mrs. Edith Staplin, Tacoma, Wash. 4 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren. Private services were held in the VIRGIL T. GOLDEN CHAPEL under the direction of a Christian Scientist. Interment was in Zena Cemetery.
