Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Bossardet Funeral Home for Arthur R. Groover, 86, of 19 Mechanic St., who passed away Wednesday, March 20, In Pontiac General Hospital after a long
Rev. Fred G. Clark officiated with burial following in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Oakwood.
A retired farmer and resident of the Oxford area practically all of his life, Mr. Groover was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pontiac; a life member and Past Master of Oakwood Lodge No. 100, F.&A. M., also a member of the Eastern Star and the Oxford Farm Bureau.
He was born in Lake Orion Jan. 19, 1877, a son of George W, and (Mary Beemer) Groover, and attended Lake Orion and Thomas public schools. On July 6, 1904 he was married to Hettie Warren in Oxford.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Donald M. (Bernice) Francis of Oxford, and Mrs. Russell O. (Alma) Gage of Concord, California; a son, S. Perry Groover of Glen Allen, Virginia; 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
