Rev. A.J. Adams, brother of John D. Adams, and George H. [sic] Adams, died at McKeesport, Sunday, at the age of 76 years. John D. Adams left, to-day, for McKeesport to attend the funeral, which will be held there at 10 o’clock tomorrow morning,
Rev. Mr. Adams was a Baptist clergyman who has been heard from the pulpit of the First Baptist Church of this city. He was retired by old age two yeas ago. He was a son of the late Rev. Chauncey Adams, and after graduating from Lewisburg college was ordained pastor of the Lafayette, N.J. Baptist Church, where his father was also ordained. The parent was pastor of that church in 1845.
Rev. A.J. Adams also held pastorates at Rosendale, N.Y., Walton, N.Y. and Hawley, Pa.
Rev. Mr. Adams was twice married, his first wife being the late Martha Elston, of Salem N.J., and his second wife was Theresa Sutton, of Lafayette, N.J., who survives him with two children.
He was a talented preacher and held long pastorates. He endeared himself to his parishioners by applying to his daily life the christian [sic] characteristics of a pastor and brother,
