Funeral Held Tuesday For Mrs. Eliza Sutton of This Place
Mrs. Eliza E. Sutton, 76 years of age, died at 7 p.m. Friday, January 22nd at her farm home residence following a two days illness of acute indigestion.
She was born January 10, 1857 in Oxford Township and has spent the most of her life in this community, having been a resident of this township for the past forty-two years.
On October 12, 1881 at Lake Orion, she was united in marriage to Lewis J. Sutton of that place. She was a member of the Lake Orion Baptist church.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Mattie Brodt, at home; three sisters, Mrs. Emma C. Howe, of this place; Mrs. John E. Arnold, of Lake Orion; Mrs. Maggie Carpenter, of Detroit; also a brother, Norman Struble, of Oxford Township.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the residence with Rev. F.R. Walker, of Orion, officiating. Fred H. Allen had charge of funeral arrangements. Burial was made in the Lake Orion East Lawn cemetery.
