Eleanor Walling, of Bakersfield, who was sentenced to an indeterminate term for robbery of the Taft bank, was sent to San Quenten [sic] prison Tuesday. There is a local interest in the prisoner, owing to the fact that when she was quite a young girl she was a member of the Walling orchestra, which frequently played for dances here and at Pismo. The Wallings then lived at San Louis Obispo.
“Scotty” Taylor, who also confessed a part of the crime, was taken to Folsom prison the same evening.
In the trial of William Crockett for the same crime to which Miss Walling and Taylor confessed, Taylor testified that Crockett was not the third man in the hold up, but that his partner was a man from Los Angeles who is now in Mexico.
