Walling Arrested As Speeder

Stage Operator Caught Near Borden; Was Traveling Over Limit, Officer Says

John Walling, well known stage operator of this city, was arrested for speeding, at eleven o’clock Saturday, morning, near Borden, by motorcycle Ernest McCluskey. McCluskey says the stage man was traveling 37 miles per hour at the time. Walling denies this. He will plead November 23rd, before Judge Raburn. It is not believe that he will fight the case.

McCluskey came upon Walling from behind. The officer was secreted near the Herndon Bridge, and saw Walling driving a stage car at a lively clip, toward this city. McCluskey pursued Walling for five minutes, at at length overtook him near Borden. The officer’s stop speedometer show that the maximum speed traveled by Walling was 37 miles per hour, the officer sasy.
