THE DALLES, July 15 (AP)—The wreck of a light truck in a highway tunnel near Lyle, Wash., was being investigated today by the Klickitat, Wash., county sheriff, C.R. House, who declined to say whether he believed the mishap due to an accident or foul play.
Two persons were injured: Estell Rorick of The Dalles and an unidentified man, who is reported in a serious condition at the Hood River hospital.
Rorick was quoted by officers as saying he was suddenly struck from behind while driving through the tunnel along the Columbia river at 9:30 P.M. Saturday and that he did not regain consciousness for three hours. He and his companion were brought to the Oregon side of the river by passing motorists.
