Pioneer of 1854.

Gabriel Walling died of heart disease at the home of his son, in Portland, last Friday, aged 67 years. He was one of Oregon’s earliest and most respected settlers, and was well known throughout the Willamette Valley. Mr. Walling was a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Walling, deceased, and was born in Illinois in 1836. Five sons and one daughter survive him. The funeral services were held in the Amity M.E. Church on Sunday morning, January 17.
