John Harlyn Bryant, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. E.J. Bryant, was born March 24, 1903, at their country home in Dover township, and died July 4, 1931, at the age of 28 years.
He attended the Adrian high school, graduating with the class of 1923. He also spent one year at Adrian Business College. February 4, 1928, he was married to Margaret Spear of Morenci. Those left in the immediate family are his widow and two little years, Carolyn Ann and Betty Jane; his father and mother, grandmother, Mrs. Lillian Rice, and one brother, George, at home. He was a loving, kind and patient father and husband, loved by all who knew him.
The funeral was held at the home Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock, the Rev. William Hewett of Holloway officiating. The bearers were Gerald Bryant, Paul Spear, Maurice Spear, Richard Rogers, Warren and Wayne Clark. The burial was in the Oak Grove cemetery in Morenci.
Those attending from a distance were Dr. and Mrs. Stanley Bryant and daughter of Dowagiac, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Bryant of Shelbyville, Ind.; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Baldwin of Howell, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. W.B. Towers, Harold and Chester Bryant of Detroit, Mr. and Mrs. Richards, Mr. and Mrs. D.W. Gorsuch of Wauseon, Ohio.
