They Want Their Ties Severed

Declaring that her husband, Wm. Stuart, aged 78 years, while she is but 28 years of age, is addicted to the habit of drink, and that he has treated her cruelly, Mrs. Rohena Stuart has filed a suit for divorce with the clerk of the circuit court.

She says they were married in this city in 1901, and that there resulted from this union three children, the oldest being nine years and the youngest four. Besides being addicted to drink, she says the husband forced her to work on the farm; to milk cows; accused her of infidelity; and once in a fit of rage threw a butcher knife at her, and that finally she was compelled to take in washing for a livlihood [sic].
