Mrs. E.T. Beardslee, mother of Mrs. M.D. Larned of this city, died at her home on Sashabaw Plains, October 2, at the advanced age of 90 years.
Mrs. Beardslee was a pioneer of Oakland county and for 68 years, her entire married life, she had resided on the farm which was taken from the government by Mr. Beardslee’s father almost a century ago.
By her strong Christian character and loving and sympathetic disposition, Mrs. Beardslee had endeared herself to a host of friends. She is said to have possessed rare mental ability and retained her faculties to the last.
Amid a wealth of flowers the body was buried in the Sashabaw Plains cemetery, the Rev. McKenzie of Flushing, a former pastor, officiating.
