The Board of Education in session this week accepted the resignation of Miss Mildred Short, principal of the Goldsboro school, and Miss Hazel Towers, assistant in the Preston school, to take effect at the end of the year. Miss Lillie E. Doty, at present assistant in the Goldsboro school, was appointed to succeed Miss Short, while Miss Grace C. Thompson, of Ridgely, was named intermediate assistant. Miss Evelyn Harris was appointed to the vacancy in the Preston school.
