Port Arthur folks read with considerable interest Sunday morning the announcement in The News that Cap’t Tyrrell would erect two new buildings here within the next few months. Captain Tyrrell is one of the old timers of southeast Texas, having come down into this section some 20 or 30 years ago. Although he lives in Beaumont, a vast amount of his real estate holdings are in Port Arthur. When Captain Tyrrell was approached Saturday to confirm the rumor of the two new buildings he said, “You may tell the people of Port Arthur that I am going to erect two new buildings in the very near future. Port Arthurs has been very good to me and I am going to reciprocate.” The facts are that Captain Tyrrell or any other capitalist would not continue to invest more money in any other city if there was no future for that particular town. It is evident that he believes in the soundness of his investment as well as the future of Port Arthur.”
