STANFORDVILLE—Ruth Walling, 73, of Gristmill Lane, Stanfordville, died Aug. 26 at Vassar Hospital.
A resident of this community since 1955, Mrs. Walling was a master gardener at the Cooperative Extension Farm Home Center and a volunteer at the Carey Arboretum, Millbrook. Before moving here she lived in New York City.
Mrs. Walling was also a member of the Millbrook Bennett Club for alumni of Bennett College; a member and past president of the Stanford Garden Club; a member of the Womens Republican Club and a member of the district chairman for the United Way.
She was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church, Millbrook, and the Altar Guild there.
Born in May, 1907 in Passaic, N.J., she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Guiterman and attended Passaic schools. She was graduated from Bennett College in 1928, where she studied drama.
She was married to Roy Walling, who predeceased her. Mr. Walling acted in Broadway shows and summer stock and was a theatre producer.
Mrs. Walling is survived by several cousins.
Funeral arrangements were private.
A public memorial service will be offered Sept. 13 at 11 a.m. at the Grace Episcopal Church, Millbrook.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Omega Funeral Home, Elmsford.
