Promotions and transfers of three men at Zanesville were announced today by Robert W. Painter, Ohio Power Co. division manager here.
William F. Murphy, formerly of Canton, was transferred to Zanesville as a commercial rep representative commercial [sic]. Robert G. Johnson was switched from the residential department to the commercial department as a sales representative, and K.H. Teagarden was promoted to electric heating inspector.
Murphy, born in Columbus, is a 1952 graduate of Zanesville High School and a 1957 graduate of Muskingum College, holding a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He joined Ohio Power in 1957as a sales representative in Canton.
He is a deacon of the North Presbyterian Church, and is a member of the William McKinley Lodge F&AM. He and his wife and three children plan to move to Zanesville soon.
Johnson was born at Quaker City and was graduated from Quaker City High School. He began his service with Ohio Power in 1945 as an engineer’s assistant and was promoted to the residential sales department in 1953.
Johnson is a member of Grace Methodist Church, Amity Lodge 5 and Zanesville Area Chamber of Commerce. He and his wife and five children reside at 2858 Crestway drive.
Teagarden, born in Newark, is a 1934 graduate of Coshocton High school. He was employed by Ohio Power as a meterman helper in 1935 at Coshocton, was transferred to Lima as a meterman in 1937, and moved to Zanesville in 1938 as a meter installer. He had been a sales representative-commercial since 1954.
He is a member of Coshocton Moose Lodge. Mr. and Mrs. Teagarden live at 452 Adair avenue. They have two sons, Carl of Coshocton and John of Zanesville.

Note: Kenneth Teagarden’s wife, Dorothy Brown, was a fifth cousin, once removed, of William F. Murphy. Dorothy was a descendant of Gaspar Rorick, Jr., and William was a descendant of his brother, Michael Rorick.
