Amity Postoffice Has Anniversary

AMITY—Sunday, July 6 marked the 100th anniversary of the Amity postoffice. Jerome B. Walling, early pioneer, was the first postmaster, receiving his appointment from the Millard Fillmore administration July 6, 1852. C.H. Burch, W.H. Harrison, A.B. Watt, Mrs. A.B. Watt were some of the past masters of intervening years.

The present postmaster is a son of C.H. Burch.
