Evelyn C. Gallup, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harper P. Gallup, was born August 10, 1859, in Medina center, Lenawee county, Michigan, and died September 20, 1927, age 68 years.
She died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Roy Wise, at Ypsilanti, Mich., where she had been living for the last seven years.
In the year 1883 she went with her parents to Huron, Beadle county, South Dakota, where she met and married W.G. [sic] Nichols March 19, 1885. To this union three children were born. Mrs. Minnie Wise of Ypsilanti; Ray A. Nichols of Saginaw, and another daughter, Gladys Marie, who died at the age of three years.
She is survived by her husband and one daughter, one son and a granddaughter, a sister, Mrs. O.J. Wells, and a brother, Charles E. Gallup of Ann Arbor.
The funeral services were held at the home of her sister, Mrs. O.J. Wells, Wednesday at 12 o’clock, the Rev. Mr. Shaw of the First Baptist church of Ypsilanti officiating. The burial was in Lime Creek cemetery.
She will be greatly missed by all of her relatives and friends.
