At 3 o’clock on Wednesday morning occurred the death of Irving O. Drake in Dorranceton, after a long illness of a complication of diseases. The deceased was born in Eaton Township Feb. 4, 1857, and had been a resident of Dorranceton for the past thirteen years. He was for a number of years a faithful member of the Eatonville Baptist Church, but on organization of the Dorranceton Baptist Church joined in the latter and was always very active in church and Sunday school work. He was also a member of Kingston Lodge, No. 709, I.O.O.F and Royal Arcanum, No. 396. The deceased was highly esteemed by his fellow citizens. He served as secretary of council and was at the time of his death serving his second term as school director. He is survived by his wife and one daughter, Miss Lizzie. The funeral will be held on Saturday at 2 o’clock p.m. from his late residence with interment at Forty Fort.
