Two Weddings & One Divorce

Mabelle Perkins, nee Rochelle, by her next friend, Charles Rochelle, yesterday filed application for a divorce from Harry Perkins, charging him with non-support and neglect.  (Wichita Daily Eagle, August 9, 1917)

Mrs. Martha Peet, a former resident of Edgewood, was united in marriage to Mr. Dallas Rorick, at Anamosa, recently.  They will make their home in Monticello, where the groom is an attorney.   (Manchester Democrat, March 12, 1919)

  1. My nephew John Rorick IV who lives in Morenci Michigan married a girl from Monticello Iowa. They live in Morenci. Her parents still line in Monticello. If I am remembering correctly, there are Roricks buried in the cemetery in Iowa nearby.


    1. Yes. Cornelius Hoyt Rorick and some of his children are buried in Oxford, IA. The marker for him and his wife lists all of their children, with birth dates, but some of the children are buried elsewhere.
