Clyde L. Skinner Obituary

Clyde LeRoy Skinner, 72, of 53 N. Andrews Ave., Lake Orion, father of Mrs. Murl E. Teller and Mrs. Phillip E. Ryckman, both of Lake Orion, passed away last Wednesday at Lapeer County General Hospital after a nine-day illness.

Funeral services were conducted at Allen’s Funeral Home here last Saturday afternoon by Rev. Frank S. Hemingway of the Lapeer Methodist church. Interment was in Oregon cemetery, Lapeer County. His widow, Lena B. Skinner of Lake Orion; son Gale D. Skinner of Oxford; another sister, Mrs. Leslie W. Peters of Rochester; and four grandchildren are also survivors.

The deceased was formerly employed at the W.E. Scripps estate as a gardener, and more recently he had been on the maintenance staff of the Village of Lake Orion. He had lived her the past 25 years, coming here from Columbiana, Mich. He was a member of the Lake Orion Methodist church.

Mr. Skinner was born April 22, 1882 in Oregon Township, Lapeer County, his parents being Alonzo and Harriet Sutton Skinner. He attended Gray school in Lapeer County, and on August 23, 1911, was married to the former Lena B. Griffith in Lapeer.
